through rose-tinted glasses、をみて、自分は大阪のおばちゃんをイメージしてしまいましたが…、意味は、色眼鏡で（みる）、です。Cambridge Online Dictionary によると、

look at/see sth through rose-coloured/tinted glasses/spectacles：

› to see only the pleasant things about a situation and not notice the things that are unpleasant:

と説明されており、confirmation bias、よりも、もっと主観的な感じですね。英国のroseってもっと良いイメージで捉えられていると思ってましたが、こういう否定的な意味でも使われるんですねぇ。
ちなみに、同じ文にある、stats、皆さんご存知と思いますが、Statistics、のInformalな表現です。よくNativeからのメールでも使われてると思います。
